The City of Caldwell Idaho...

Caldwell is the county seat of Canyon county. It was originally an Oregon Shortline construction camp in the late 1800's when they built from Granger, Wyoming to Huntington Oregon.

Much like Nampa Idaho it really sprang up population wise with the arrival of irrigation and to this day remains one of the top agricultural areas in the country. Producing crops which are many and varied. Corn, hay, wheat, sugar beets, livestock, mint, wine grapes and hops, to name a few. Companies such as Simplot and Crookham have led the way in research of both new crops and innovative techniques.

Caldwell has several manufacturers of both Manufactured homes and recreational vehicles. The Caldwell Idaho night rodeo each summer is a good old fashion no frills affair. The Albertsons College of Idaho, an exclusive liberal arts school is both expensive and an excellent education.
