Boise Idaho Real Estate

The City of Eagle Idaho...

To this day eagles winter along the Boise river in and around Eagle. The same was true when the earliest settlers named what was to be the town site and the island just south of present day Eagle Idaho. The land were Eagle Idaho now sits was purchased, by a Scottish man by the name of Aikens, in the spring of 1880 in one of the first Eagle Idaho real estate transactions. At that time the only business located in what was to become Eagle Idaho was the Snider Blacksmiths shop.

One of the most influential decisions to be made regarding the town of Eagle was that there was no bridge across the river at Eagle Idaho. Nor was there one at Star 6 miles down stream, and a disagreement arose as to where the bridge should be placed. The Ada county commissioners, being politicians, decided a vote would be the best way to decide who should get the bridge. Star Idaho forged ahead in the polling but the sneaky Scotsman came up with a plan that saved the bridge for Eagle Idaho. He procured a fancy horse drawn carriage and proceeded to transport most of the residents of the old soldiers home down to the polls. Those votes being the deciding advantage in Eagle Idaho getting the bridge.

The largest amount of growth and change in the Eagle Idaho area and in Eagle Idaho real estate has happened since the 1970's. The Eagle Hills golf course located in Eagle Idaho was closely associated with the first boom in Eagle Idaho Real Estate. With the arrival of Hewlett Packard in 1976 the demand for housing shot up. At this time we saw the development of Eagle Hills and 1 acre subdivisions like Banbury Estates. Since that time, in fits and spurts, Eagle Idaho real estate has been developed to the point that there are very few large parcels left. Several public golf courses located in Eagle Idaho and one "Caddy Shack" style private club. For more on the subdivisions and flavor of Eagle visit my Eagle Idaho Real Estate page.

The weather in Eagle Idaho is very similar to that of Boise Idaho. To learn more about the weather visit my Boise Idaho page which has a synopsis of Boise Idaho weather, which also is about the same as Eagle Idaho weather. It is not like Salt Lake were there are areas that get more snow, or are always 10 degrees cooler.
